CRÊTE, Michel (Mike)
Passed away peacefully on December 27, 2011 at the age of 66 after a five-month battle with lung cancer. Loving husband of Lynn (Millar) Crête.
Awaiting Mike in heaven are his mother (Bertha Barrette); his father (Rosario) and step-father (Joe Martel); his sisters Pierrette (Perry) and Rita; (and brother-in-law, Bob) and his brothers Conrad and Denis. He is survived by his sisters Claudette (Lucien Demers) and Gisele (Bert Gardner) and by his brothers Andre (Anita) and Claude (Jeannine), as well as by his brother-in-law Gordy (Pierrette) and his sisters-in-law Betty (Conrad) and Nicole (Denis), and dozens of nephews, nieces and grand-nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly.
Mike's passion was his home life with his wife, Lynn, of 35 years, his dog, Princess (5), and cat, Pushka (13) and very much enjoyed having family and friends visit. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golf and making improvements to his circa 1848 house and 1.5 acre yard, at all of which he excelled and brought him great joy.
He worked for over 45 years in the trucking industry, most recently for 13 years at his company, Interprovincial Truck Body, which he built with his brother Denis. He retired in June of 2010 and travelled extensively with Lynn, but still maintained a close connection to his business associates and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed.
According to Mike's wishes, there will be no church service or funeral parlour visitation. Instead, on Sunday, January 8 from 2 - 4 p.m. there will be a Celebration of Mike's Life at the Knights of Columbus hall at 78, rue Principale in Aylmer, Quebec (819-684-5552) where friends and family will have an opportunity to pass on their condolences to the family and reminisce about their good times with Mike.
